Dear friends,
The familiar adage, “the children are our future” is as true today as it has ever been. The question that each of us has to ask is, how can we best prepare our children for that future? Surely education is a key to preparing for the future, and so at St. Patrick School, we strive to provide an education to equip our young people to grow and thrive in the world.
But is education, often thought of as readin’, writin’ and ‘rithmetic, enough? Does that give our children all they need to be able to thrive? In our Catholic tradition, we would say “no”. The classic subjects are certainly necessary, but not sufficient, to form both citizens of this world and citizens of heaven! St. Patrick School aims to support not just the educational needs of our young people, but also their formational needs.
Jesus said that the greatest commandment was to love God with all of our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. With daily prayer, weekly Mass with full participation by the students, classes focusing on Scripture and Catholic teaching, and service opportunities, we aim to shape the hearts and souls of our students as disciples of Jesus Christ, while at the same time providing the classic education offered by all schools. This is the St. Patrick School difference!
These young people are our future, and you have an important role to play in making that future bright! Help make future citizens of this world and of heaven by supporting Catholic education in this community! Please support our school and community, your school and community, through prayer, service, and by giving generously to our school annual fund! Your participation will make a difference in the lives of our students, and in our community. Thank you, and may God bless you! St. Patrick, pray for us!
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Sean Smith Pastor
