Last year, the 4th, 5th, & 6th grade students learned about what school and living was like in Ghana, Africa. The class became pen pals with St. Anna's Family Home. During Lent, students organized a fundraiser for the Africa Youth Now Foundation which supports St. Anna's Family Home. Fr. Tony Adawu helped to found the foundation. Tuesday, Fr. Jones County CPPC/Family Council is working with KCRG again to get Coats for Kids in Jones County. The Jones County CPPC/Family Council will also provide any additional size coats that may be needed and hats and gloves. Coat request must be made by 5pm October 2nd. Coats will be delivered to school early November. Click here to request a coat.
Reported by the Office of Catholic Schools: It's celebration time! Our schools have 8,840 K-12 students and 10,424 PK-12 students enrolled according to first day enrollment. This is an increase of about 300 K-12 students and about 350 for PK-12, or 4% growth! St. Patrick School is proud to report 10+% increase in PK-6 enrollment, this is a 10+% enrollment increase for the second year in a row! St. Patrick School would like to welcome Clara Pacha as the 2023-2024 Art Teacher. Clara is a graduate of The Univeristy of Iowa. Clara says, "I am excited to join St. Patrick School because of the small, community feel of the school. I grew up going to small Catholic Schools, so I hope to be right at home here!" We are excited to announce Briar Luchtenburg as our Student of the Month! Briar consistently demonstrates a willingness to take on challenges and has made remarkable academic progress. Not only is he eager to learn and excel, but he is also always willing to lend a helping hand to his classmates and actively seeks opportunities to assist others. We are thrilled to recognize Alyssa Jones as our Teacher of the Month. Alyssa's bubbly personality and infectious enthusiasm bring joy to both her students and fellow staff members. As a Preschool teacher, she continuously strives to grow and take on additional responsibilities, demonstrating her dedication to her role and the education of her students. Alyssa's willingness to extend her help to all children and staff members, beyond just the preschoolers, is inspiring and encouraging. We are delighted to honor Jen Braden as our April Staff Member of the Month. Jen is a true jack-of-all-trades, always ready and willing to help out wherever she is needed, be it in any of the classrooms or on the playground. During recess she comes up with creative and engaging games while ensuring fair play for all. Ella Isaacson is our April Student of the Month! Ella is not only a fantastic student, but she is also an incredible friend to everyone in the classroom. She encourages her peers when learning new things. Ella always demonstrates a willingness to lend a hand, and she leads by example. Even when distractions arise, Ella stays on task, always focused on achieving her goals. She may only be 5 years old but she is mature beyond her years.

St. Patrick School would like to welcome Sara Kula as the 2023-2024 1st Grade Teacher. Sara is a familiar face that has been at St. Patrick School for many years and has helped in several roles. With Sara's most recent accomplishment of finishing her teaching degree we are thrilled to add her to our teaching staff! With the addition of Sara as the 1st Grade teacher, 1st and 2nd grade will now become their own classes with Jennifer Revelle returning as the 2nd Grade Teacher. Click here to read more about Sara.

March Student of the Month is kindergartener Harper Simon. Harper's heartwarming acts of kindness and support for her peers and school staff have earned her Student of the Month. She is quick to help others when she sees they are in need, and she does it without being asked. Most recently, Harper noticed a classmate who was not sure what to do with his worksheet so Harper jumped into action to quickly help show him how! Harper always has a positive attitude and a big smile on her face. Congrats to Harper on a job well done!
We want to recognize a well known face at St. Patrick School, Terrie Prybil, as Staff Member of the Month! Terrie wears many hats on a daily basis and does an excellent job with all of it. Most recently, she worked closely with Beth Fitzmaurice to help teachers and students thrive. Terrie is warm and friendly to everyone that walks in the door. Terrie is incredibly hard working and dedicated to our students, teachers and staff. Terrie is a great listener and voice of reason to all who come into her office. She goes above and beyond to make sure everything at St. Patrick School runs smoothly and successfully each and every day. Thank you, Terrie!
